Memphis College Preparatory Elementary School opened its doors in August 2010 to an inaugural class of kindergarten students, the college class of 2027. Through a rigorous, achievement-focused curriculum and character development, Memphis College Prep students are prepared to enter and succeed in the most demanding college preparatory middle and high schools.

Our School

Come visit us

Located in the Alcy Ball neighborhood of South Memphis, our home is the former Dunn Elementary School. We have easy access to I-240 and are conveiently positioned for families from every zip code. In fact, as of May 1, 2023, we had scholars from each zip code in the Memphis MSA represented in our student body. We are proud to serve as a school of choice for our community. We are an elementary school serving students in grades K to 5.

MCPFamily&U

Partnering with families is vital to ensuring the success of our students and schools. We recognize that we cannot fulfill our mission of preparing scholars to enter, succeed in, and graduate from college without the support of our families. Family events are held on campus at least once every two months. Flyers and messages inviting families to upcoming meetings and events are sent home with scholars. Food and child care are always provided. We are committed to maintaining frequent communication with our families by offering the following: back-to-school socials, campus newsletters and postcards, family conferences, monthly progress reports, end-of-quarter report cards, and more.
